This is a monthly bird monitoring exercise. To date over 1,190 participants have tallied 137 species from American bittern to northern shrike. Meet at the West Rutland Price Chopper parking area at 8 AM. Leader Roy Pilcher 775-3461.
March 30 (Tuesday) - Bats in the Balance.
Bats are an important part of our ecosystem. Join Rutland County Audubon as Scott Darling of Vermont Fish and Wildlife presents the status of bats in Vermont and the "white nose syndrome" that is decimating their numbers. Rutland Free Library at 7 PM.

May 1 (Saturday) - Vermont 40th Annual Green-up Day.
Join Rutland County Audubon and other volunteers to help clean up the one of Vermont’s top birding spots. Meet at the West Rutland Town Hall 9 AM.

Explore the birding hotspots in Rutland County as we attempt to tally 100 species. Bring lunch. Meet at the West Rutland Price Chopper parking lot at 6 AM. Leader Marv Elliott 775-2415. June 3-5 - Annual Bird and Botanical Meeting.
Not a RCAS event, but a great opportunity for birders and botanists alike. Craftsbury Outdoor Center, Craftsbury, Vermont. Contact Connie Youngstrom 492-3502.

Join RCAS as we conclude another birding year. Roy Pilcher will present his program on the wildflowers of Vermont. Bring a dish to share. Beverages and utensils will be provided. 6 PM. Contact Marv Elliott 775-2415.
July 3 (Saturday) - West Rutland Butterfly Count.
Travel through West Rutland to tally the butterflies. Bring lunch and a beverage. Meet at the West Rutland Price Chopper parking lot at 8:30 AM. Optional $3.00 registration. Leader Roy Pilcher 775-3461.
